The above video was put on by my friend Avram on requesting friends. I do apologize for the one word that he uses in this video. But he is making a point.
Lately, I have seen that there are still some people who haven’t been given the proper training on network marketing. We all have to go back to the basics every now and then. Just because we are online doesn’t mean that the rules that apply have changed. Meaning, introduce yourself when asking for a friend request. Take a look at the person’s profile. Find something in common that the two of you have. Do you belong to the same group on Facebook? Do you have the same friends? Do you belong to the same company?
While I was with Pre Paid Legal and while listening to one of my mentors, Mr. Michael Clouse, I was taught to meet at least 2 people a day for 10 people a week if you were working part time. Heck, I was petrified! How the heck am I going to go up to a stranger and introduce myself! Sometimes, I would just throw the magazine at them and run so that I didn’t have to talk. Eventually, I had to learn to become coachable and do what was suggested. It didn’t mean I had to like it, but I had to accept the process in order to see the results.
Now with this new technology it doesn’t mean that our jobs have changed. We are still in the people business, the promotions business, the marketing business, the relationship business. Are you getting my drift yet? The one who gets the most recruits is the one who gets out there and gets the most names. Thanks to the internet, it has become much easier to meet people. You can read their profile and find out what you have in common without having to ask first! Now how easy is it for me to say hello? Much easier, now with this new technology of Facebook, LinkedIN, Google+, BizOppers, ISMMagic, and many of the old networking sites, how many people should we be meetng a day on here? If you are truly serious about making a money online, then we should be meeting a minimum of at least five people a day. For some that takes at best 15 minutes.
Now, depending on the timing, you might actually be able to get by with asking up to 15 people to be friends with you through Facebook if you spread it out throughout the day. I would say 5 people first thing in the morning, 5 in the afternoon, and 5 in the late hours say around 11pm. Now sure not everyone is a night owl, but if you have a global company, then you want those people who are just getting up for their day so that you can truly connect with them.
I hope that I had made a little bit of sense and someone understands what it truly takes to be an online marketer. Become that friend, exchange a few emails, get to know each other, and find out what their needs are. You just might have the product that they are looking for and vice versa. We are truly in a new economy today. Network Marketers are eventually going to be buying from each other rather than using retail outlets. So go out there and get your 15 new friends!
Remember, it’s about relations. People buy from those that they know, like and trust. So get busy!
By the way, if you want to find out more about Avram Gonzales, please be sure to stop by his fan page on Facebook.
Just found out about this site as I was making some improvements on my blog. What a great way to connect with others! Have an awesome day!
Sometimes, I actually like doing some writing while I am out near the ocean. It's the closest place that I feel closest to God. I can just let all my problems escape and just focus on my writing while listening to the waves break, the seagulls and sitting in brisk wind here on the central coast of California.
After a long hiatus, I have decided to come back with a new attitude and with a vengeance. I had started a blog a few years ago but then I became a salaried manager for a 24 hour gas station. Well needless to stay, I became too tired to do any type of blogging. I have always been aware of the network marketing industry but only recently have found something that will definitely add to my primary business. As most of you know, sometimes we have to go searching for coaches who are in the industry who might not even be part of our business. This is a business where yes, you are in business for yourself, but you truly never have to do this alone if you find the right people out there. Never be afraid to start investing time into learning and researching other people.
I recently came into contact with a young man, who is passionate about what he does and he has helped me get back on track after taking an hour and fifteen minutes out of his own time while he was on vacation with his family! Now, how many of our own “bosses” today will do that for you if there is something that you don’t understand at your job? Heck in five minutes, he even gave me a power point presentation as to what my schedule should be as a daily routine from this point forward. Now I don’t have a webcam as of yet, but he called me on skype and he did all the talking while I did some typing to communicate since I don’t have a mic just yet. Talk about going out of your element! We did our best with what we had to work with! As they say, don’t wait till you have what you need to get started, just get started and run! Now some of you might know of him and some might not, but my new friend Joshua Coffy can be found by going to http://www.joshcoffy.com. Sign up for his free 3 day twitter boot camp and learn how you can develop MASSIVE twitter traffic and turn those leads into sales!
I look forward in continuing my education and helping others who are looking to also grow as leaders in the industry. Remember, marketing is no longer just a belly to belly business. Although, offline marketing is still crucial to making sales, but so is the new technology of the internet. Learn how to build trust with your new friends online. People buy from those that they know, like and TRUST. Quit using the excuse of being part of the NFL club and get out there and do it! Remember you are responsible for your future. Get out of your own way and let God help you and guide you. As long as you do the footwork, God will provide! As I have learned from my Pre Paid Legal family, remember to keep God first, family second and work third.
Let me leave you with this video from one of my mentors, the late Mr. Jim Rohn.
